    You name it copiers, printers, computers, servers. Unless scrap equipment goes through a scrubbing process simply "erasing" the information is not enough to be secure.

    Even good old fashioned non-digital photocopiers present a security risk. Away back in the 1980s, it was known that an image of the last document copied could be teased out of a Xerox machine. Security protocol required that if any classified document was copied, a blank copy had to be run right after, to erase the image of the classified doc.
