i can only echo spirot's comments. the "amber crowd" was as douch-ey as they were ignorant...

i vividly remember this idiot telling his mail-delivery-blonde-wife-with-fake-tits how the engine in the McLaren car was the same as his mp4-12c...

i spent most of the weekend walking all over the entire track.

Not sure if it was the Amber Lounge party but on one of the youtube video's the amount of ****s that walked around at one of the parties was immense. Very much the Gumball 3000 crowd.

What do you expect from people who apparently think that Cristal and DP are good Champagnes?

I know- both are highly overrated. I do like some of DP vintages... and they make a good rose. but Krug - clos de mesnil is my fave!

I've said it before I'd rather be dead ass last in the Podunk Regional FV race than front row center at Monaco.

    Cheaper too.

None of this would have happened if they had banned automatic gearboxes! :)

Don't be hating... all they are doing is catering to a demand.
If my memory serve me correctly Amber Lounge was started by Eddie Jordan's sister.

Not to stray too far off-topic, but speaking of rose, Krug's is pretty impressive too. My ex-wife and I visited Krug years ago, and they were very gracious and generous with their time (and we killed two bottles of Grande Cuvee in the process). If you're going to spend big money, a bottle of Bollinger RD is my choice, assuming you can find it.

When I was 18, my parents took my sister and me on a Mediterranean cruise. My dad offered me either £100 of holiday spending money or a completely open bar tab. I picked the bar tab...

...and although I spent the entire 2-weeks perpetually inebriated, I was only able to manage a tab of £97.50. In my defence, soft drinks and all food were inclusive, so that tab was comprised of only the alcoholic drinks.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

-You where either an incredible lightweight (since you're Scottish, renounce your Scottishness at this very moment :D)
-they forgot to scan the card many times (if they knew you where an open bar tab card holder)
-the choices of drink were moonshine or extra strong moonshine (i.e. not very much needed to make one extremely drunk for a cheap price :D).

Firstly, I'm American-born to English parents, I only did a PhD in Scotland. ;)

I often did a "cocktail of the day" with breakfast (my card), a beer or two over lunch (my card), wine and champagne with my parents over dinner (Dad's card), and by evening time I was completely hammered so switched back to soft drinks - the rooms literally rocked themselves at night anyway. Not to mention one of the days involved consuming ⅓ of a bottle of dry sherry by 10:30am on a vinyard tour. :D

 Wow, someone previously had respect for me on FChat?! :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.
