Lol. My 328 has Vipers for lunch, no problem. (Or maybe that was a Mustang II Cobra... well it definitely had a snake on it.)
In a straight line? On a mountain road? More details please, for future reference if I am ever being chased by a Viper. BT
Not that ive tried to outrun a Viper(and I never will )......but one would assume it was in a straight line drag race? From what ive read, Viper's are like big ocean liners through the twisty sections, compared to the 348's which are more like streamlined speed boats. In a straight line drag, a Viper goes like a scaled cat and the 348 like a scaled kitten.
Shouldn't be that big of a surprise guys. Vipers have huge 8.0+ liter V10s that push out between 450 and 500 horsepower stock, depending on the year. Even a WRX STi or an Evo will outrun a 348 on the straights, probably on the track too. A 355 is a different story.
It's a friend of mine's Viper, and he was following me. I decided to run away, and he decided to catch me.... It's no surprise, it was tongue-in-cheek. As for the WRX and Evo?? Only off the line. Roll from about 20 mph, and the 348 beats them.
