airplane I've been a passenger on that was later involved in a fatal crash.

Sad news, and sad news for Island Airways - good people that run a good service here in Michigan's northern lower peninsula.

I was a passenger in Islander N-866JA in March of 2018, K-CVX out to Beaver Island's Welke Airport and return.

The prior aircraft that suffered a fatal crash was a DeHavilland of Canada DHC-2 Beaver on floats owned/operated by Hawk Air of Hawk Junction, ONT. In September of 2003 I took my Pa on a four day fly-in fishing trip to one of Hawk Air's many remote camps - it was an awesome trip! Many years later (2019) it went down after lifting off from Hawk Lake... two fatalities. I was stunned, as Hawk Air runs a very tight operation.
