same as before, subscribed sections (Silver, Business, P&R) along with classifieds. I've never forced users to subscribe or guilted them into not or just being silver. there is some value there for some users, they can decide that for themselves. plenty you can do on FerrariChat without subscribing.
Rob, what I would remind you about Ferrari owners is that most if not all of us are passionate individuals. There's a deep passion that underlies Ferrari ownership. That being said, I would encourage you not to make the mistake of misinterpreting said passion, thereby prompting you to immediately dismiss us as all being a bunch of a-holes... And also remember: Many of us a-holes have driven your traffic for a bunch of years... without us a-holes, Ferrarichat wouldn't exist.
I understand 100%. All users on FerrariChat should be enthusiasts. Most of them are passionate Type A personalities that are use to being in charge. All the more reason for me to be tough and not pushed around. If I am tough with someone that just puts FerrariChat or me down without any other value added to the community, they deserve it. If someone has a suggestion that I believe with almost complete certainty is a bad idea, then I will also communicate that. If tough guys can't handle being talked tough to, if they are really cupcakes, then they need to move along. The community of FerrariChat is much more than a few users.
I mostly log on from my PC and think the new site is fine. Looks a little different, but functionally it's mostly the same, and I'm sure I'll be completely used to it within a few weeks. If the color scheme is bothering some people, is there a way to make it individualized so that each user can customize his or her color scheme to fit his or her liking?
Thanks for your reply and attention Rob. I appreciate the work you're doing, and that you are reading everyone's posts on this. As mentioned, I'm not happy with all the changes though I do understand about outdated software, etc. That said, some of the changes were not the best choices. Since my business started having a website (number of years ago), I am now on my third ALL new one, but have avoided clutter, and kept with my mantra of easy to navigate and simple being better. I am hoping that after more time, and all the dust settles, that this site/forum will be positively improved and easy to use again, but as they say....."the jury is still out."
I do like the "New Posts" section at the bottom of the page in the "new" old format. (I know it's in both formats, but the "new" old format is less busy than the new format.)
Rob I'm unsure of the relevance of length of membership to that or why you feel the need to bring that up? Are you suggesting that people should be treated differently due to membership length? That does not bode well for increasing traffic. Just so I'm clear here are you suggesting I'm an ar@@hole? Regards Michael
No and not suggesting, I'm saying you don't know me or operation of this community, that was proved by your post. I would say you are more in the know it all category than *******, but I said both are reasons I have to stand up and not take it lying down.
I'm struggling to understand your logic Rob I know you are stressed with this, but how do you draw a conclusion that I am a know it all from my post? Regards Michael
Absolutely agree. Navigation is terrible. Way too complicated and impractical. Get rid of all those bloody ads or I will stay away from the site in the future. Marcel Massini
what ads? show me screen shot, you are Honorary, you should only be seeing a single 728 by 90 ad top center for direct sponsors. that is actually one less ad than you were seeing before old site. If you are seeing other ads besides that probably still a bug.
I I give In. Hopefully you will find time to reflect on the way you are interacting with your customers. Regards Michael
Wow. I moved my first factory and re-did the offices back when I was a young buck. I had no idea how passionate people were about windows, office size, proximity to front door, lunchroom, bathroom, secretary, printer. That move was a real eye opener and it taught me some interesting lessons. Never thought I would see it with this crew, this amount of angst and passion among grown adults about a...errrr...website. Carry on Rob, sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do. I'll hang out and let you fix the issues. It aint perfect yet. But give the guy a moment to get it running.
I run an adblocker. So there is more whitespace than before. I'll get used to it. There are some nice newer features. Running in Old Style, which as someone pointed out is still not really old style. I've tried New Coke a couple of times and gone back.
+1 on the ad blocker. Until they get that part fixed, that plus the old view style is close enough to keep moving along. I hated New Coke!
Employees tend to be replaceable, specially in the service industry. Hertz did pretty much a corporate reboot when they moved from NJ to FL. It was very good for them. Customers are much more perishable and costly to acquire.
Are you saying "enabling" the worth less (not worthless) portion of a companies labor force to find their future elsewhere will cause customer loss? BTW: this thread comes up as in the "Model Specific 458/488" thread - is this correct?
Yup, go to your user panel (by selecting your user ID at the top right of the page) then select conversations, when you get them up on the screen, select the "conversations" you'd like to delete. THEN . . . select the down arrow next to "other action" select "leave conversations" and when you do that, you're deleting them. It's ask one more question about accepting or ignoring the sender, just leave that alone and click "leave conversations" and it'll delete. You can do one, or multiple "conversations" at the same time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
