That car started on eBay over 60k, then lowered to 60k. Dropped it again to 57k, now $52.9? That is a steal if it problem free.
    PPI?

I almost bought a car from them last year, they were really helpful, we just couldn't make a deal on the particular car I wanted

I saw this ad also, but I noticed that the front end of the car looked different than the regular 1994 348 Spider. Particularly, the lower fender had two openings instead of one. Also, the black grill does not look right, which indicated to me that the front fender area was replaced and not the factory original. Maybe I am wrong, and somebody please correct me if I am. (I just notice a little attention to detail things - military background)

It does not mention if it has had a 30k maintenance or not. The one I just bought had the 30k done right before I bought it and the Ferrari of Seattle reciept was almost $16k for the job.

great point. it can add up quick. the difference can turn a good purchase into a horribly expensive buy.

Noticing it is not an orig front bumper. I didn'y pay attention to that, and I have looked at the car for months now

I would echo that. The front grill is not right. the opening on the right is for the air conditioning condenser. I would make sure it is still there and working ( if it's really important on a spider).

I called the dealer today on this car. Seems like such a good price for this car. They had no clue if the 30 K service was done or not. They also said that some ferrari people have told them that the front bumper is original and some say it is not. I personally don car either way as long as it was done well. What do you think would be a reasonable offer on this car knowing it needs the 30K???
    Thanks Mike

I would deduct 5k from their NOW asking price and have them pay to ship(if applicable.) Just in case it needs some TLC. I believe the last price was $52,800?
i would offer 46k Delivered. They have been trying to sell this car for some time now. Looks like they want to move it. They have lowered the price at least 4 times that I noticed

I just sent them an e-mail asking for 47K delivered to MA. We will see what happens. Is there anyone in the area that could go look at it? I want to know if it looks as good as the pictures.

I would call them if you were really serious. Dealers get lot of bogus emails. In the bunch there are legitimate emails like mine and yours.
A phone call would help, plus you can judge their demeanor on the phone.

    Michael,

I think if you can get this car for $47K, it would be a steal of a deal, no matter whether the front bumper is original or not. Realistically, however, I think the dealer would not go below $50K. But, it never hurt to try, I guess. Good luck.

big deal- its an aftermarket front bumper, but more important, why was the orig so bad it couldnt be repaired? its heavy fiberglass ,easliy repaired...and for the dealership not having any paperwork regarding service history , would scare me a little, means they prob bought at auction , where another dealer dumped it for some reason . a great deal at 47k is your gamble that could end up costing you $$$, id buy contigent on a ppi that you can offer to pay for at a reputable ferrari dealership. also if they go for the 47k deal , that means they prob bought it wholesale for no more than 44k ..

a bad dealer will lie and say "im pretty sure the 30k was done ,but i cant find the papers", and a good dealer will plead the fifth, that way you cant hold him to it when it blows. his i dunno will cost you 5 to 7k...

"Had no clue" isn't what you want to hear whilst researching the service history of a Ferrari. It pretty much guarantees the car is due or overdue.

Make sure the PPI contingency is written into the purchase agreement, whatever the price.
