    Fellow tifosi -

This Sunday we're having another one of the infamous FCA-NC rally/F1 viewings at SportAuto! The fun will begin around 10:00am at SportAuto in Summerfield where we'll have a quick cup of coffee (yeah, great idea when it's 104-degrees outside) then make a memorable rally up north toward the Virginia state line.

I've been sworn to secrecy (and I stink at keeping secrets), but there are two VERY cool pit-stops along the way.... they'll challenge your driving skills *and* your sense of common decency. When the rally organizers have been declared persona non gratis in 42 states and 3 countries, you know you're in for a treat !

The route is actually quite short and we're all scheduled to arrive back at SportAuto by 1:00pm for the viewing of the German GP. With Michael Schumacher on home turf, Ferrari is really expecting a spot on the podium. Join us in the air-conditioned comfort of SportAuto with a big screen TV, your fellow NC tifosi, and plenty of bench racing. The F1 race should conclude around 3:00pm.

If you just want to rally, and ditch the F1 viewing, that's fine.
If you just want to watch the race, and ditch the rally, that's fine.

There will be prizes for the rally winners!!!

Questions? Drop me an email or send a request through the www.fca-nc.com website.

    See ya on Sunday!

    -Daniel

I thought the same thing and I think he just posted todays date so that "this Sunday" would be relative.

    I'm a dumbass- THIS SUNDAY, the 24th.

(Mods, can you change the title of this thread to reflect proper date??)

Jeremy - God willing, I'll have A/C in my 348 by Saturday. If you want to navigate, I could sure use some help! If the A/C ain't running, do yourself a favor and run (don't walk) away from any offers to ride with me! Are the new P-Fields fitted?

ALL- I saw Steve B. at Sport Auto today. I can only say "yee haw!!!" This rally will take us along the famed "Barneystrada" route, favored by the original Chinetti drivers. There is a secret stop along the way that'll have you BEGGING for fresh Pilot Sport tires and a stopwatch! (In a safe, controlled environment).

I may just have to be there for this...camera (with video capability) in hand.

Any one need a co-pilot? There is no way my Mustang would be able to keep up...it's only a 4 cylinder. ;)

The day sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun for everyone except JRR. With no AC he is going to look a little wilted by the time you get back. I hope Steve and Steve have plenty of water on hand to re-hydrate Daniel. It would be terrible for him to pass out during the race.

I will not be able to attend, but hopefully will at least be able to watch the race. I hope for good race results and lots of photos.

Hey wise ass.... I'll have you know that the Jedi Master himself is fixing the A/C as we speak! I'll be needing a scarf and mittens in my car because it'll be so flippin' cold. Brrrr... just thinking of it makes my wankie shrivel.

    :)

It all depends on my work schedule for next week. If I can, I'll atleast come out, if not participate in the rally.

Damn! I saw threads like this last year, Daniel, but was unable to attend any of the events. I will be out of town for this one too. :( I really want to bring my 7 year tifosi along and have a good time. He enjoyed the last "rally" to Indy; the attached picture is a little proof.

    Maybe next time. Enjoy yourselves!

Now, I'm not one to dispense with parenting advice just yet --- but let me just suggest you keep an eye on your son! One ride in that 348CH could either:

    1. Turn him into a redneck Ferrari driver
    2. Bring him into the dark side of our "348 brotherhood"
    or
    3. Land him in the county jail !!

We're going to have a few more events this summer... no worries!

LOL! The pictured ride was "post jail bait"!

(Thanks again to JDAVID for making Jonathan's day...I should've stated that in the original post)

A can of whoop ass? You're the one spending time in jail... I wouldn't be suggesting "ass" to anyone. ;-)

Update: The folks at SportAuto are calling in an extra truck of concrete. They need to expand their parking lot because of all the attendence at this event!!

We're only missing firm committment from:
    eclipse185
    Eddie "aka Darth Vader" G.
    Sam "Chobia" B.

Other than those three, I can only offer the following advise to families in Guilford and Rockingham counties, "lock your doors, close your windows, hide your children!"

Sorry I missed some of you guys and the ralley, my wife and I did however make it there just about 1:30 . Still good to be involved. Steve, Tom, and Steve were still there and few others. We hung around for a while and took a nice scenic drive home. Thanks guys although we were late we still enjoyed the time.

Sport Auto hosted a great event with the big screen German GP taking a distant second to Mrs. Barney's authentic pasta and her mother's delicious profiteroles. Steve Barney, Tom Jones, Steve Jones and the whole crew put together a super drive and even better entertainment. The pictures below show 1) Poker Run stop #1 at Shiloh airport, 2) this really works (sometimes), 3) stop #2 with plenty of local atmosphere, 4) "Shorty" grills the dogs, 5) runners-up in the poker run win a genuine F-hat, 6) winners of the poker run receive the prize from Mr. Ricambi America himself and 7) part of the F1 crowd watching Michael drop from a potential podium finish. Sport Auto also awarded an F-car oil change to the lucky poker hand.
