This upcoming movie "The Village"

I saw M. Knight Shyamalan (?) being interviewed, and he commented on how the less you see the monster/alien/threat, the scarier it is, like in Signs. So I wonder how much, if at all, he'll show them in this movie.

 

If he follows the pattern of his other movies maybe we will see what it is or what they are by almost the end of the movie.

 

Truthfully, when I first saw the preview, I was thinking that they were Indians!

Think about it, the people in the film are supposed to be the first settlers here, and there are savages running loose in the woods... I could see how they would seem scary.

We'll have to wait and see, but I could still be correct on this one though.

The movie was filmed 10 minutes from me on a farm. They crew wouldnt let us get to close cause i know they had the things on the set, but we couldnt see them. However, the movie does look very good, and based on his other movies, ive got very high expectations.

 

I don't want to spoil it, but my guess that those people are living in 2004 and are hiding from the regular people.

 

That exact thing is what has been rumored to be the big surprise ending. But, M. Night supposedly filmed some new footage about a month ago, so he's up to something sneaky. He could be letting a false ending being leaked. I hope so, because if it is indeed constrution workers in 2004 coming to tear down the village, then that is going to be pretty lame.

 

"The Sixth Sense" was pretty cool but "Unbreakable" and "Signs" were a total let down (to me). I hope this one is cool - trailer sure looks promising.

 

They showed about 10 minutes of it on ABC several months ago when they showed Unbreakable. It looked pretty good from what they showed.

 

Now I just hope I'm wrong! I mean, I watched that 7 min clip on ABC and that was one of the first things I thought of.

Then I thought of the French movie Le Fraternite Du Loup, and how stupid that turned out.

 

LOL - aka Le Pacte Des Loups or Brotherhood of the Wolf??

That was seriously weird.

 

Ah yes, Pacte. The first 1/2 was going well, but then it just got dumber and dumber. By the end with that CGI skeleton sword I was just waiting for the agony to end.

 

Apparently the small village is surrounded by a woods inhabited by a race of "mythical creatures".

I still think the Sixth Sense is the best. Unbreakable was almost unbearable. Signs was cool, especially the way that the audience gets its first clear view of the ETs!! I will no doubt go and see the village as well.

 

Ok guys i can confirm that its not the 2004 thing, my friend lives right near the farm where they filmed it and the production company said they were going to recreate a 1800s town for a 1800s movie. So i dont believe its the construction workers theory.

 

Supposedly there was a leaked ending out on the web, which I seriously hope is fake. I wont let it out here just in case (1) it turns out to be the real ending, and (2) people dont want the surprise (if it really is the ending) ruined. If anyone wishes to know, they can PM me.

 

Uh, you don't think that the PRODUCTION company is just going to tell you that so that the surprise doesn't get leaked?

 

Well then how would they explain those silver birds in the sky?

 

Okay, so who's seen it? Is the ending the construction worker (or similar) 2004 prediction?

 

I second that. That movie was downright pathetic! Don't even bother.

 

saw it last night... it was terrible.
cannot believe it made that much money the opening weekend.

 

Even my teenagers (who like any crappy horror movie) panned this one. It must but terrible.
