On the last one.........Kendall Morris is a friend of our son J.J. Both of them are in the TCU band. He is a tuba player and she is the feature twirler. He told me he had become good friends with Miss Texas but I did not believe him until he introduced me to her after one of the TCU football games......And yes, she is very pretty up close.......

 

Time to come back out again. Maybe even enter the old yellow "57" in the funny car class......Sunday, Sunday, Sunday,,,,,,,Bee Thheeerrreeeee..........

Today and tomorrow is top alcohol, top fuel and fuel funny car qualifying. Sunday is eliminations in the top classes...........Gonna be a lot of fun.....Do not miss it...........

Heading out to Texas Motorplex at 8am. If you come out look me up. I will be around the first motor coach in the coach area, somewhere near the Todd Simpson pit area or..........well, never mind there will probably be too many people anyway.......682 433 3651.

 

Wow. Went out today and took JJ. It was the first time he had ever gotten to witness a top fuel or fuel funny car run hard. The first two dragsters set off every alarm in the parking lot. I understand that at the starting line you can actually measure the seismic activity to a level of 4 on the Richter scale........

My new friend Todd Simpson made the field of 16 in fuel funny car but he is definitely working at a disadvantage. He qualified on the bump and must face Cruz Pedregon in the first round. Cruz is the pole sitter and his time is about 1/2 second quicker than Todds and at 300 mph that comes into about 135 feet of spread at the finish.. Todd will have to do something spectactular or Cruz really mess up for Todd to win just the first round.............

Go if you can......I guarantee you will enjoy it if you like speed.............and excitement.....

They are giving away free earplugs at the Gander Mountain booth just inside the entrance on the South Side. You will need them.......

 

Well, Todd broke in the first round of funny car today so I guess his hopes went up in smoke. We knew he was going to have a hard time against Cruz Pedregon, who had set low qualifying time at 4:08 seconds and Todd was on the bubble of 16 cars at 4:58. Sixteen cars and only one-half second difference in et........Cruz went on to win today..........
