too much information, I kept the relay box but took out the communications unit
Ok. I tried this a million times and i never seemed to get two green beeps. What’s the signal that this worked?
Contemplating if i should do a diagnose, change the accumulator and bleed the system because of fault 7. When i installed the relay i had no issue with fault 7. It happened 800 miles later first time.
My car is currently in the shop to have the F1 System checked, fluid drained, flushed and system recalibrated. Can't put a price tag on peace of mind. Dan Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I definitely do. I’ve tried this procedure a ton and it’s still beeping. [emoji35] I get the red/beep, green/1 beep and then i get a green/1 beep. It never goes green twice before the red light flashes. I must be doing it wrong.
I see that Scud Ing just released a second short video on how to disable the beeps. YouTube search for it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
I received an eMail reply back from Stef a few days ago but it went to my Spam Box Thanks for chiming in Bob! And here it is again too: Dan
Having read this thread, I went and bought the Scuding F1 relay, just fitted, very happy indeed, defiantly a noticible faster and smoother gear change, imagine in its now close to the Scuderia gear change if not slightly faster. The old relay looked pretty tatty too. Minimum you get is peace of mind, I think a must do upgrade. I went for the basic box, plug and play could not be simpler.
Mark- No way a relay designed to optimize F1 pump operation increased your shift speed from 150 ms to 60 ms. Ferrari modified the F1 system, gearbox, and TCU to get to 60 ms in the Scuderia/16M and 599 GTO. All the Scuding relay does is provide a reliability upgrade to the old analog relay, ensure F1 fluid pressure and provide pump diagnostics.
I'm with you and even Stef says that is what it does. It does not change the pressure in the system, alter the shifting program, or anything else. You may see some improvement if you have a system with issues but otherwise it is all placebo effect. Then again, placebo effect is something like 60% effective against the common cold and IF you believe it will help the efficacy jumps to something like 90%. When people believe it will make the shifts faster, it magically feels like it made them faster.
Looks like your butt-o-meter is not very well calibrated like mine as I too I thought I experience better shifting. But that's OK, I often drink red wine pretending its cough syrup and my cough goes away
I do think it is a worthwhile upgrade. I just don't think it can improve shifting unless your system is already compromised.
I am with you, won’t have moved it from 150ms to 60ms, And maybe my relay was on its last legs too because this is my second F430, and I don’t remember my first one being as clunky a gear shift as this one was, I do jump out of my Speciale back into this on a regular basis and even drive the cars back to back so also accept the calibration comment, it really does take some calibrating to adjust back to the F430 ( what happened in a generation of cars ?) but it is the rawness, sound lines and gearchange when working well of the F430 I love, all I know is with this new relay my car definitely has smoother and deliberately not quoting any figures, a very slightly faster gearchange, like I said maybe my relay was knackered....maybe my car is now back to 150ms, anyway very happy with the result. Happy to share a bottle of red....
I understand what you're saying and I agree. Last week I had my F1 fluid flushed and system recalibrated, and gearbox fluid changed too as it was due. Car is in tip top shape and runs perfectly.
Affirmative, definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Just have to have realistic expectations. Plus it does not mean you can skip the required 3 year F1 service that is not in the 360 or F430 maintenance schedule. Have to go to a later schedule where Ferrari finally figured out regular service is required and not just a fluid level check. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, I got that maintenance schedule from you! Thanks Taz! It's been 3 years since the F1 fluid was changed and so as the gearbox oil so I took it in last week to get it done. Car runs perfect! Dan Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
So far the 7 beep fault message has not returned after my F1 fluid flush and F1 system recalibration. However I've only driven my car for about 200 miles. I will do more driving this weekend and report back. Dan
Any news? My issue with fault 7 is getting more frequent. At least in spirited or city driving. My tech is not so concerned though.
