I willing to bet a few here may own a golf cart or have owned a golf cart in the past. A few people in my little neighborhood have one. I have the golf course and do not own one! I would tend to use it for some lite duty yard work instead of using my large Kubota lawn mower to pull my little trailer around. I have been looking for one but not too seriously. I am interested in an electric one thinking it will be less problematic and quieter than a gas engine type. Push the accelerator and go. No running gas engine or carb etc to worry about. I have a few questions. My one question is storage. My friend says many golf courses leave them outside all summer. I may tend to leave it out most of the time during the summer. How well do they hold up with the UV and rain etc?

Also electric golf carts must have some type of controller to do different speeds. That can have failures I'm sure. What about suspension? I looked at one on ebay that showed a rear leaf suspension and oil filled shocks. Not sure if the front was solid mounted.

I'm looking for a used one that is in good to OK condition locally. Seems many are in the $1800.00 range for a decent one. In my opinion for me the smaller the better. Not that I am small but it may be nicer to have a small one instead of a larger one that takes up more space etc. Is there much variation is overall size between different models/manufacturers?

Just looking for any advice before I buy one.

    Thanks

We have one for the cottage and it stays out all summer (rain and shine, no issues). Not super fast but convenient to haul stuff around. Downside is, it's quite old so after around a lap and a half of the property it runs out of juice and has to be charged again. A new battery changes that, but I don't use it enough to feel the need for a longer range.

Had no issues with it, literally sunk in $0 (the cart was free) quite a few years ago.
