Seems that many here in the forum had their first exposure to Ferrrari by watching Magnum P.I. in the '80's. The 308 left a great impression that many found irresistable. I had in the back of my mind the memory of my first exposure to Ferrari. It was on TV as a summer replacement that lasted only one season here in the US and two in the UK. It was 1971 - 1972 and I was 16. The show starred Rodger Moore and Tony Curtis. Lord Brett Sinclair (Moore) drove an Aston Martin DBS and Danny Wilde (Curtis) drove a Dino 246 (I'm not about to argue the Dino / Ferrari debate). The car blew me away back then and started me on my sportscar jones.

Last week I was thinking about the series and remembered the name. It was called "The Persuaders". I did a Google search for grins and lo and behold..available on DVD! I just got the first season delivered today and will be watching it all next week. Seems the secon season that was for the UK market is only abailable in PAL and not sold stateside.

Just wanted to let you all know about the almost forgotten series that had the Ferrari as a backdrop. Anyone else remember this?

Jeff, I remember the series very well! The show ("Die Zwei") was very popular in germany due to its very cool german language synchronisation. I loved the series.
And I remember the first episode, where Lord Brett Sinclair and Danny Wilde were racing in their cars. Was it a 246 Dino? I loved that red car.

But of course, Magnums car was also great :)

Yep a Dino and an Aston Martin DBS. Tony Curtis in the Aston and Roger Moore in the Aston. Much better than the White XJS he later drove as the "New Saint".
