One of my business colleagues is interested in picking one up - I like the lines, but told him some folks had real issues with them - what is conventional wisdom?

I LOVE the cars. They really look like a shark.

The A pillar is a bit low for some (taller) drivers. The top is not the best design. Prices have steadily come down after an initial jump.

Depends 'how you are tall'. I have a long neck, so it doesn't quite work for me (6'2") Best bet is to sit in it, adjust the seats, and see.

the 550 barchetta is the Ferrari that started it all for me. As omar said, its tough for taller guys. Havent ridden in one, just sat in one and i almost felt like i was towering over it.

As Napolis I believe once said, you don't want to sit in a car which will impale you on from the top of the windshield.

Ferrari lowered the windshield to give the car a sleeker look. It worked, but as you can imagine it has its disadvantages.

same kind of thing happened with the murcielago roadster. Stones are hitting guys in the face in them.

i've been considering one, but just don't like to hoops sticking up so far.... but otherwise they're wonderful

and most are queens demanding high prices. with some work, you might find a miler for 200, and there's no reason not to buy a miler in such a reliable car.

Wait for Whart and ag512bbi to chime in. They're two owners (one former)who could give you the proper perspective of the car.

It is a great car but not practical without a roof.
