I’m in the market for exactly this car (maybe Euro spec would be slightly more preferable) - always difficult from the little info given and no ppi but any thoughts on what we can see from the photos? Thanks

I have a US May 1985 QV and everything here looks correct and original to me. The peeling plenum and (possibly) bulged expansion tank are common and easily addressed. Check for original spare wheel, tool roll, jack roll, key fobs. Looks like something sprayed onto the intake hose to the throttle body? May want to understand what that's from. Good luck.

It’s a US car for sure and seems like a good price for 27,457 miles and it’s a car clean.
    Any service history?

That’s one of the cleanest cars I’ve seen in a very long time. Very nice.

The exterior and interior look nice. The engine bay needs some attention; when I see a plenum in that condition, I wonder about other parts in there. Some of the hoses and clamps look tired, distributors also look a bit aged.

Looks like a nice car overall, just be sure the mechanicals are properly checked and have some $ set aside in case there are related incidentals.

Thanks - regular fluids but no “major” since 2009 apparently.

I’ve know Tom Clark, he works a there, for a long, long time. He’s a great, stand up guy. I would buy from home in a heart beat.

You could always get Tim Stanford to do a third party PPI to alleviate any concerns. He’s right around the corner from there.

    Best of luck.

Agree on the interior and exterior as presenting very well. Some detail prep went into this car. Fo me its primarily the engine and suspension that car truly justify condition and mileage.

The engine bay, however, presents as if it has been stored in a very humid enviornment. The plenum paint peeling would suggest alot of excess heat in the area. Surface corrosion on all the cadium plated metal ie: fuel injection pipes,CIS distributor, hose clamps, nuts, brackets....... Cam covers heavily oxidized. Where is the wrinkle finish on the airbox cover? Was this a garaged car??

If the engine bay is purely cosmetic and the compression and leakdown check out and mileage can be accepted as accurate it is priced well
