Hi guys, has anyone installed the Akrapovic Delete-R unit
on their cars to get rid of CEL's triggered by modded cats?

Any feedback would be appreciated :)

    Thanks & best!

    Cool!!

But afaik it is no good for passing an emissions test since it will show
a 'no ready' both on the cat converter and o2 sensor in the testing computer,
at least it seems to remove the annoying light :)

Thanks for the feedback Richard. :)

However fwiw neither the Akrapovic delete R or the mini cats will make a vehicle
pass an emissions test as all they do is cancel the CEL on the dashboard but the
fault is still stored in the car's ECU.

Well with mini cats there is never a fault per se I would guess. I am not going to disagree that it will make you pass an emissions test as clearly it won't and hopefully the physics of that is pretty obvious

There are about $2 worth of parts in that little black dongle.

    2 x 1 M ohm resistor

2 x Capacitor, I'd say between 1 and 5 μF depending on how many seconds you need to smooth out.

If someone puts a probe into your exhaust it will still show outside of range and you'll fail smog. But any test using OBD2 data should look good.

    Biggest ripoff indeed!!

MY 2000 and over cars are not tailpipe probed anyhow so no need to worry about that.

The obd2 data will also fail as the ready codes will not show on the emissions test
computer when the car is scanned as all the Akrapovic device does is cancel the CEL on
the dashboard but the fault is still recorded in the ECU.

Bottom line is unless you 'know' someone at a smog shop the only sure way to pass
smog is to reset the ecu using a factory diagnostic tool, revert to stock cats, do a
drive cycle for the ecu to put out all the readiness codes, go smog it and revert back
    to any setup desired.

We used to have the full monty but now they rely on the CEL light, in the good old days with my 911 the Porsche garage used to say, "don't worry sir we have plenty of cars here to run your test on ".....

Unfortunately you won’t unless you’re lucky in some back channel. The EPA has been aggressively pursing any company selling emissions disabling software or devices.
