Agreed... I use it for conferences and talking to people on international projects. It allows for a nice 'flow' of conversation.
Have used it a few times to communicate with friends out of country. Like it. In fact, heh...I once messaged my friend on AIM who was in Austrailia who then called my friend back in Chicago to buzz me in to his apartment because I left my phone at home but had my laptop Cool.
It's not good for me here in UAE. Constantly locking up my computer and has been quite useless so far.
Since I have been in Nova Scotia I use it to call my wife in Louisiana every night. It works great. The other guy up here with me uses it to call his son in Hawaii.
I use Skype frequently for conference calls. Overall, I am impressed but I do get frequent dropped calls (probably average 1-2 per conference call).
Love it! Brilliant idea but waiting for the charges to roll in as I believe its still FREE OF CHARGE!!!!
i use it daily while overseas, its great having a "local" number in another country that can be forwarded to any other number in the world for a few cents
They charge ~$30 a year for unlimited calls to North America. I love Skype. I have a Vtech cordless skype phone hooked up to my computer and I can take it anywhere in my house and talk as if it's a normal phone. Great for talking to family.
Far better than AIM or YM! +1 I got the same set-up at home and my wife calls her family overseas regularly (like there's no tomorrow) for cheap!!!
I use it to talk to a lot of my friends who are in Europe. Love it. Few minor issues here and there, but better than my cell phone domestically.
