Got the black one....I like it. It is thin, but it's not that small IMO.

Couple of my friends have the black one, its sexy just I don't like how its not a clip on. They have to carry them around in a pouch that flips open thats held closed with a magnet, then you pull phone out.

    I have the black one.

It's not the smallest phone in the world, but it's thin enough and smooth enough (no stubby antenna) to fit comfortably in any pocket. The benefit of its width is the fantastic and fairly big screen. It has a nice quality feel to it, and has a nice feature set (quad-band, bluetooth, etc.).

Personally, I like having a phone that is easily pocketable. I hated having my phone hanging off my belt all the time. I inevitably knocked it around in the office or getting in the car. With bluetooth, I can leave my RAZR in my pocket when I get in the car. I keep my headset on or very close by in case I get a call.

Can't suggest a cheap unlocked phone, but check www.letstalk.com for good prices w/ and w/o contracts. I've purchased two phones from them and had a good experience both times.

What do you mean by locked? Something to do with the SIM?

the phone isn't locked to a certain cell phone carrier. as long as your service is on a gsm network, you can put your sim card into the new phone and it'll work.

We have a couple, found great clips online somewhere, not the stupid giant pouch thing. Works great, reliable, lots of hacks for software, need to get unlocked or get unlock software. Then if you travel you can buy local SIM, not get roam charges.

My wife has a black one.

No problems. She does not use the bluetooth.

She did not think her phone was a big deal until she got several compliments about it. Then she thought she was hot stuff

Not sure what the current $ is, but www.letstalk.com had a deal last month for $199 with a $200 rebate after your 4th month of service with Cingular on a new activation. Their prices w/o activation seem to be pretty competitive as well.

I use this case. It fits the phone well, although the design of the belt clip makes it stick out from my waist a little too far. The description says clear covering over full face, but mine doesn't have the covering over the outside display. It is just an open hole which is fine by me since the plastic covering the inside has a lot of glare.

I've also seen belt clips at the local mall for the RAZR that hold the phone with tabs at the top and bottom and fit tightly against the body.

I got mine from Wal-Mart a few months ago. $150 plus two year service contract. I've seen them on Amazon.com for free after rebates, but Cingular in my area was not a participant in that deal.

Love mine. Excellent reception and clarity. Rugged too. I've beat mine up pretty badly and it still functions great. Doesn't do all the nifty stuff some phones do, but it functions as a phone better than any cell I've had yet.

I haven't had really any problems... Its more durable then i thought... I managed to launch it across our locker room and no harm done....I've dropped it a few time by accident as well

The biggest problem is putting in a pocket and then seaching for it but not finding it until you do a double take... it is really thin...

If they were still fetching $400+ or whatever it was when they came out i'd say get a different phone, but now that they are around $150ish at bestbuy... i'd say go for it

Screen is impossible to read in direct sunlight
speakerphone's tough to hear in the spider
if you're storing enough #'s it's a royal pain to look-up a name (can only search for first letter of first name then scroll, slowly....)
software to link with Outlook is weak and expensive
    no video record capabilities
software seems to get confused about the bettery status sometimes

but still like it, and will keep it.

Ive seen killer deals online for the razr and others ( thinking Treo at $300 ) How does the activation and service work ? If I have a problem does one have to go through the original seller, some times in another state.
    Anyone here done this ?

I have a silver one for almost 10 months now. Battery died once, but was replaced free about 2 months ago. Other than that, I have no problem yet.

I need to charge the phone frequently, now I do this daily.

The phone fits in a front pocket of a pants, or a chest pocket of a shirt. Because I don't feel the bulkiness or weight, I did lose it twice in restaurants, but fortunately I got it back both times. So be careful.

Vibration function became weaker, but that happened on other phones.

The switch on left side of a phone can be activated while you're walking or driving when you put it in a pants pocket. This can be nuisance as ring level changes w/out you knowing it.

All in all, I am satisfied w/ the phone due to its size & style.

Other than color differences, is there any difference in function for newer black model?
