    Looks fantastic.

It's the most overstated understated car, yet. :)

I love the R8. I plan to get one as a daily driver once my 17 years old daughter goes off to college and I no longer need a back seat.

I like the R8, but not how the GT looks. Dont like the wheels and that rear wing.

The R8 just doesn't stir my emotions. It truly feels soul less like a Nissan GTR

There are very few cars that come with great wheels stock. I can overlook the wheels on any car, because I always have different ideas on what matches my vision of how a particular car should look. No biggie (although the expense of new wheels can be a biggie!).

Audi doesn't care, but the R8 in general and especially the R8GT confirmed loss of any more Lamborghini business from me. It diluted the Gallardo to offer the same car under the R8 bodywork, IMO. Nice car, nonetheless, but far too similar in mission and performance to the Gallardo - why pay $250K for a G?

I agree. The V10 sealed the deal for me.

Plus I think the R8 looks a little better. It actually looks more dramatic in person than it does in the photos here.

And... Audi actually has more of a racing association than Lambo.

    I think quite the opposite. . . .

Why spend $150+ on a V10 R8 when there's a multitude of Gallardos to choose from in the same price range.

That is one car that never did a thing for me, though the women I'm involved with loves it.

The allure of buying brand new versus buying a pre-owned exotic?

For what it's worth, I completely agree with you though, and would much rather buy a lightly pre-owned car with a trusted history rather than a brand new R8. Gorgeous cars though.

EXACTLY my point; I bought a G new, won't do it again and obviously neither would you. The market is New R8 vs. used G - does not help move Lambos for the Audi-Owned Lamborghini.

Well I wouldn't mind owning either a Gallardo or R8. I think the R8 probably doesn't attract as much attention because someone like my wife would see it and mistake it for a TT. Less likely to be spit on, egged, etc. Not a fan of the GT wheels though, I like the regular R8 wheels better.

Even if the comparison is between a used Gallardo and a new R8, I'd go with the Gallardo every time. The R8 still hasn't grown on me.

Um... you can also get R8s lightly used. They're just not as common yet as used Gallardos.

can you get an R8GT without the wing and dive planes?

I think the "base" (!) R8 is a great looking car; the add-ons are just trying too hard.

I wish. I'm not a fan of the wing

Its interesting too that the Gallardo was a 100% Audi designed car. It might say Lambo on it but they had nothing to do with it. Its was Audis "test car" when they took over. The G has a true Audi engine. I think the R8 is stunning and the convertible we have is equally stunning...

It looks red in the pic but its actually volcano orange. Its a TT color, not avaliable on the R8. Its beautiful in person

The GT is cool, but for some reason I still think my favorite is just a plain jane V8 R8.

Sefac, congratulations on the GT. I have a V10 spider I love. Passed on a GT spider because I didn't like the color combos available, wish I'd ordered a coupe.
