Well, It's a Euro car in the US. Funny, why would that be?

Other than that, it looks fairly fine.

Jump on it Dr. John. I would.

I looked fo three years for a black/sabbia car till settling on my silver/sabbia. That is a "sabbia" interior not creama.

I got a six speed and that is a preference thing. Having just turned fifty yesterday, I can tell you that you are coming of the age where you can enjoy the auto and not just say I insist on the stick. Also, it will fit in your stable nicely.

I love my silver/sabbia now but the black/sabbia was the original draw/burn and remains one hell of a look. Very sophisticated and deep. Devastating in a class of a few.

Hope it checks out for you. They are great bargains today IMO. "Can't touch this" kind of Savoire Faire at this price nobody can come even close to touching. It'll be a beauty in fifty years too.

    Let us know. Best wishes.

I just went back to look at it and saw the price. I hadn't earlier.

I would rate it a buy for sure if it checks out.

Valve guides will be the unknown, but at this price you have saved the money to fix about anything wrong and have the satisfaction of knowing it is done right.

Thanks to all for the informative gracious responses. It looks like a nice car to go to dinner in and not have the wife complaining of feeling as though she just did 20 laps at Daytona, which tends to happen after a dinner of steaks and merlot. I did not realize the car was a Euro model. I do know the valve guides can be an issue. Does this help in negotiations ( car seems reasonably priced as is) or if the PPI checks as just proceed as requested. They also have a 2006 Vantage that I drove and had planned on buying, but I keep thinking of the 456.... All comments appreciated.

Could someone please educate me as to why this is a euro model? The speedometer and temperature gauges all use the English system--miles, farenheit--rather than metric and centigrade and there's a federal compliance plate. I'm always willing to learn something new.

There is another 98 456 silver/black w/ only 11k. Fresh engine out major service/timing and accessory belts at Shelton Ferrari about 4 months ago. It looks like a 9.9 out of 10 car and doesn't have any of the notorious 456 issues. Offer at 63k firm. I was interested in it but decided to go a different brand. Let me know if anyone is interested and I will point you toward the that direction.

63K with everything worked through? That sounds like a great deal. The history is a little shaky on this one at 75K. Which brand did you decude to purchase instead? I am guessing Porsche.

Doesn't the "A" after the model designator ("50") mean it's a USA car?

you are correct. I was wrong on the Euro model. It is an earlier version for the NAm market that threw me.

I was looking for the fuel cooler which isn't here on this car, and actually didn't start until the '99... my bad.

Should have looked at the VIN better.
