the car is what is, what it is. The pics give you an idea of what you're buying (not the whole story). Keep in mind not everyone is a marketing genius and besides what can they say the typical used car lines of "best on the market, only driven by my a grandfather" etc.

If it's at your price point and you want it contact him and go look at it. $40k sounds to be mid price and about right to me no steal, but definately not a fire sale.

The 11,000 miles thing is partially laughable. From the AutoCheck it appears to have been sold a few times....but none of the owners over the last 7 years put any miles on her?? Come on, look at the side bolster.

Definitely a fixer upper. But not at that price. I would be willing to bet that it hasn't seen a qualified mechanic since it came to Florida 2000.

As far as ads go, I lucked out on the ad that was advertizing my current TR. It was bland and short on details/pics. Thus it didnt sell for months. IF he would have put; Fresh 30K service, No paintwork, second owner for the last 21 years, Full documentation/records, new brakes/tires, part of a 51 car collection.....it would have sold quick. But he didnt and it sat until I got off my butt and drove over to look at it.

But the lack of detail and pics on this one........not the same story.

those 11.000 may be only the odometer was running, never the car.

but if one who can fix all by himself could get this car for 35K and the technical is ok then he can not do a mistake. but the technical has to be ok, not that the gearbox is damaged or something else

    Dear Ferraristi,

    Beeeeee wary!

As others have said....11,000 miles when the odometer was working.

This is a euro spec car. Notice the lack of a third brake light in the engine cover. Also, the side markers are not OEM. They were added to federalize it.

I don't know what servicing differences you may have but some mechanical parts may not be readily available.

Also, the rear portion of the rear wheel well is missing. That part does not need to come off in any general servicing.....soooooo......

Upon closer look, it seems the whole under bumper valence panel and exhaust trim are missing. That's a couple of grand right there.

Oh, and given it's an 85 euro, I'll bet it has TRX metrics. Those tires are as expensive as the P Zero's on my Lamborghini and are still useless.

Any interior parts you will need...and it looks like you will, are super expensive and hard to find. If you're looking at buying it for around $40k, you will put at least half that amount to bring it up to a great condition car.

Spend more on the purchase price and jump way ahead on the savings curve.

Wow that looks scary. You can assume it's definately been on the differred maintenance program. As Shamile says, missing parts are big $$$. As for the cover on the ground, could be the owner does not have any place to store the car at the moment. The price is definately on the high side. I wish I was in the area....I'd love to take a look at it anyway....I'm a glutton for punishment.

Some day I'd like to add a TR to the garage, but I have a surplus of red colored cars as it is. I just thought the listing itself is laughable...

Selling a Ferrari that is on the higher end of annual service, parts and maint costs compared to many other models and absolutely no description/history/info about the car.

This poor guy is going to spend hours answering stupid questions form Ebayers which could have been addressed with even a few simple line sof description.

I asked for more info and a slight description of the car and literally got a cryptic reply of "converted Euro car, no cats, drivers side window switch needs work as well as turn signal." Guy must figure it's supposedly such a good price that he doesn't need to take the time to give out any info.

Could be an ok car, but it's going to take a lot of leg work the buyers behalf to make sure this thing isn't frankenferrari

Hi Curtis....I still have a passion for Testarossas! I moved on to a Maserati Quattroporte Sport-GT for a while and it was a gorgeous machine, but just not quite as special as just about any Ferrari you can think of. Hopefully some day I will be a Ferrari owner again...I miss it terribly.

Car cover on the ground? On the GROUND? Why not just wipe down the car with a nice piece of 200 grit sandpaper and get it over with...

There's a reason there are no close up pix of this car. Run away...
