I see a sauerkrate R32 v6 250hp 3720lb curb @ 6.0 to 60mph,16.3 to 100 and 14.6@ 95mph,the v6,268hp accord@ 3545lbs goes 5.9 to 60 14.5 @ 100. Correct me experts but that is NO better than 1984 euro GTS road tests back in their day.Oh yeah, the test I have was on 220 TRX rear rubber not the 255 Pilots I run.Lets get this straight,YOUR 308s are SLOW, and if your inclined to add 40lbs of increased rotational inertia to your sammie to save $3400 that should make your mommy wonder about all that tuition gone for naught. Facts are sammies are heavy, poor breathers that cant gain their rightous birthright without a lot of expense and trouble and why bother when if you know what to do you can get the REAL DEAL for $40 and have a Car that whips fools ass bigtime.

We, as 308 owner's, know this already and make no excuses for it. If we wanted a fast car we would have bought something different the first time around.

We buy 308's because we love that model. In our world, life is not a 0-60 race. I suppose we can't expect everyone to understand this but who cares if they don't?

One other thing, I think my mother would be proud that I didn't spend $3400 more to only save 40 pounds on a car that you would never feel the difference anyway.

USA models are NOT.The original poster wants opinions on a sammie and as I bought sammies new in 1984 and imported euro Cars in the same time frame I am positive about my advice that euro models are FAR superior to USA models.Since you confuse the issue of rotational inertia vs laden weight I suggest you keep YOUR opinions limited to exterior/interior color combinations, sound systems and favorite waxes and such.

Euro cars are better and quicker. No one here will argue that. I am not confused about "inertia vs "laden weight" one little bit. What I am saying is even a 1984 Euro model is going to have a hard time staying with a kid in a GTI now - light wheel or no light wheels.

Re-read my post. NO ONE BUYS A 308 BECAUSE THEY WANT A FAST CAR! The speed simply isn't there today. I cannot make that point any clearer. Those stupid wheels are NOT going to make ANY seat-of-the-pants difference AT ALL on something like this. None. If we want speed we would buy a flipping Corvette. We don't want Corvettes.

This is not an opinion it is a simple fact and even if it were my opinion it's is you job to deal with it, not mine to keep to myself. If you don't like my "opinion" go play on the Lambo site and leave me the hell alone.

How every true. Some of my best drives are on back roads where i don't get above 50 mph/out of 3rd gear, sure beats going down the highway in a straight line doing 80-90 pmh. It's not about going fast, but the whole driving experience that puts the smile on my face.

i don't think "far superior" is a good description of the difference between US and euro models. i had a US 328 GTS and now own a euro 328 GTS. yes, there is a difference, most notably in the sound, but the acceleration advantage of the euro car is small. and unless you are pushing hard, i doubt the 350 lb difference will be noticeable for most street use. i like the euro models more because of the cosmetics and sound, but i don't think the US cars are horrible.
