does any body know the amount of turns on the throttle body adj. screw? I have a 1980 308 gtsi.
The butterfly stop screw should never need adjusting. It's primairily to ensure the butterfly can't close completely, thus avoiding the butterfly sticking & wear on the butterfly, throttle body, & butterfly shaft. However, if it's been miss-adjusted, here's how to recover. Factory procedure is to adjust it for about 0.003" butterfly-body clearance, then adjust the bypass air screw to set idle speed properly. Alternative procedure is to: 1.Close the bypass air screw 2.Open butterfly stop screw until the engine starts & runs, 3.then adj it until idle is steady at ~750 RPM. 4.Open bypass air screw until idle is steady at 850 RPM.
