    Guys,
I barely made it home last night with a strong hump 3/4" into my acceleration ( gee I hope that makes some sense ) I'm sure people thought I couldn't drive a stick the way I had to force the throttle to get passed the hard spot.

Anyhow, I removed the carpets checked for obstructions near the pedal. Pulled the console and checked my linkage and everything looked fine & well lubricated... Heck I got a new throttle cable at my major 13 months ago and it looks good.

Where does that darn thing go after it enters the manifold hole?

What do I need to pull to see where that cable goes between the console and the manifold anyhow?

It feels like a cable is off a pulley or something...

    Appreciate any insight
Otherwise it's AAA tow time back to the shop..
    Thanks
    Patrick

According to our mechanic there is an absolute work of engineering art attached to your throttle pedal. The linkages that convert the throttle pedal movement into cable movement are apparently extremely elegant.

We have a sticky portion in the throttle pedal travel and our mechanic simply cleaned and lubed the linkages at the pedal end ..... end result a beautiful smooth pedal now.

As far as where the linkages are and how you get to them I don't know. We've only owned the car a couple of months and I haven't got over the "Oh my God, its a Ferrari!!" feeling yet so I haven't pulled anything apart.

I had the same problem. It was the bellcrank on the throttle body. Some slick 50 lube did the trick. It works for about a year and then you need to give it a new shot.

Mine was also on the engine end. Check that linkage carefully...a little well placed grease can go a long way to smoothing the operation. Occaisionally, the butterfly in the throttle body can get sticky, and require removal of the rubber snorkel to spray some carburator cleaner in there to clean it up.

I have that same problem but it's not at the throttle body. It's somewhere upstream. Sometimes I have to work the clutch just to get a smooth start instead of a big jerk forward. If you get it figured out, Patrick, please post all the details.

    Patrick,

Hope this picture helps, basically all the moving parts need to be lubricated, especially #33 on the throttle body housing. I would also check the bearings #3 at the throttle pedal mounting - if you disconnect the cable at the pedal end and see how freely the pedal moves.

Damm do I feel stupid, I finally got to work on the car this morning and you guys were right... (eric) Slick 50 lube in both ends of the cable worked like a champ !!

I was so hard to push I never thought a little oil would take care of it....

Anyhow, thanks for the cheap fix guys !!

    Boy I'm glad I asked F-chatters first.... I almost towed it 52 miles !!

    thanks all
    Patrick
