Wow. Really happy for your son. Really impressed he chose to admit the truth and it didn't bite him, which reflects really well on the judge.
Better to do it on I-80 across Nebraska. That way you might see the bird about an hour before you hit it.
Scott, Glad to hear it turned out okay. I'm in no position to judge anyone about speeding or talk about lessons learned or what people should do but after I got pulled over for over 180mph on the way to meet everyone at pebble a few years ago (remember that one?) and was basically let go with a slap on the wrist, I have rarely gone over 15 above the speed limit, as someone else stated. When the big man helps us out, it's not something to take for granted. I am sure your son won't. Speeding is not that big of a deal but obeying the law is probably more of the point with all of this, i.e. no one wants to be known as a reckless law breaker. Im sure your son feels fortunate and grateful that it worked out in the end.
Exactly!!!! Your son is 30+yr's old and should be a more responsible driver. I hope he has learned his lesson and that with that being said he not only endangered himself (but his family who would miss him dearly) and other's who are actually obeying the law like that pregnant mother ahead of me who is expecting twin's. I still remember when I stopped driving like an idiot and just enjoyed the cruise and arrived with a grin knowing I was a responsible driver. We must think about our fellow motorist and what they have at risk. Please drive safe and think about the safety of your fellow motorist.
Nope, don't want to give the judge's name. My son caught a break but the judge wasn't easy or overly tough. Just reasonable and saw an honest young man accept the consequences of his actions.
A Valentine One is a must. (have it hard wired so you don't forget to turn it on) Glad it all worked out for your son ! Bill
It's only a money making device ... I don't understand the big deal like reckless driving in some states. Unless there is heavy traffic and even then ... the tv reports anybody over 80 like it's woowoo dangerous. Give me a break. People driving through a red light at 35 while on cell phone scares me daily, not someone driving a good car at 100 in a 70 with light traffic.
