Can anyone recommend a ticket lawyer, I'm in the Sarasota area.

Minor ticket, but maybe best to try and not get points.

    Thanks in advance folks!

    :)

    Rob,

Everyone on fchat will swear by Mark Gold and the Ticket clinic. My personal experience is and only my opinion, no disrespect to his clinic or traffic lawyers is they have done no more than I could have done myself. I never sat in on the court case but I have had 2 lawyers handle 2 different tickets for me and the outcomes were the same if not worse than what I have done myself. I have no points or tickets on my record. I have fought them all myself or hired lawyers. I have read many fchats posts saying mark gold saved them and had everything dismissed for dirt cheap. I paid $125 for my ticket, $307 in court costs and another $130 on a 12 hr driving course I completed online. The ticket was speeding 15 mph over the speed limit. Previously I fought my own tickets and the out comes were; reduced cost on the ticket, no court costs, no points and no class required. I live in Tampa so Mark Golds office handled my ticket out of the Tampa office. I was told their fee would be $89 to hire them but when I presented that quote to the Tampa office they said $125 and no fchat discounts.

After my experience I am extremely apprehensive thinking about hiring another traffic lawyer and would lean more towards representing myself. Again no disrespect to Mark Gold but after everyone's rants and raves on fchat I was really expecting a lot more and was not expecting to pay as much as I had too.

First, I'm a personal injury lawyer in Miami and don't handle traffic cases. Further, I don't know Mark Gold.
Having said that, I can tell you that due to shrinking tax revenues (as property values have readjusted downward), fines and court costs for infractions have gone way up to make up for the shortfalls.
One might be able to handle their own ticket, and come out better, but one might also have to show up in Court on a couple of occasions and that might be worth money as well. Frankly, I'd rely on the ticket clinic lawyer to handle it.

I stand by using Mark Gold and The Ticket Clinic........... Although there are probably many circumstances whereby you could show up to court and plead no contest and have the judge withold & assess court costs, I doubt I could have done all of the things that The Ticket Clinic has been able to do. Besides, for $150, I don't need to take a day off work to show up to court.......... IMO, better off leaving things to the professionals.
