So I got a ticket last week for a unsafe lane change (went straight in a turning lane but the light was green and no other cars would cross the lane I was in) and wondering if its better to fight it. My record is clean, and I don't want points or that on my record. Should I hire a lawyer or just take the fault and pay?

If its close to where you live at the very least show up to court and don't look like a thug.
You can probably get it reduced to something that won't impact your insurance...like a parking violation.

Going to take the points and do a defensive driving course, was planning to have a lawyer present for me but no sense wasting $$ on a first offense.
