    Hello,

I’m wrapping up a Tilton pedal box installation. Anyone have any tips for setting/adjusting the throw out bearing travel?

    Thanks for any input.

Ok thanks for link but maybe I didn’t ask the right question. The throw out bearing is where it is from factory… but with the new pedal and mc I think there’s a chance I can push it too far…? There’s an adjustable stop on the pedall I need to set… I think?

Of course, you need to set the pedal stop. I would go step-by-step: I would first set the pedal bottom stop somewhere quite "early" and then (engine off) feel the pedal travel up to that stop. The feel on the pedal is such that you, quite early, feel quite a bit of resistance and then go like "over the cam" after which the pedal gets lighter. As soon as you are "over the cam", the clutch is practically released but you need some further travel of the pedal after that (but not too much) to be sure the clutch is fully free. So, if you feel that the clutch pedal does not have much or any further travel after the "cam", lower a bit the pedal bottom stop.

Once you achieve that you have some further pedal travel after the "cam", you can engage the first gear and, keeping the clutch pedal pressed, have somebody push the car. If the car moves freely, you are about there. You can then, while the car is being pushed, start releasing the pedal and feel where the clutch starts "biting". If too early, lower the bottom stop somewhat.

Do above but I would do it on the lift so you can feel that free point more easily. It's hard to move the whole car sometimes some brake drag etc...

Master isn't low on the pedal is it? I would not think you would want that.
