Here's the deal. 77' 308 Ill. car now in FL. Clutch cable rusted some and broke. Easy chore...repalced cable and on my merry way. Well....coming into a hard corner from fourth to third rpm drop to about 2k step on the gas at the apex and she bogs for a split milla second revs up to 3-4k but doesnt really pull until a moment later. I haven't pushed it hard around for the obvious reasons. Is this normal...the clutch has plenty of freeplay and engages about mid travel.

On a side note...My daily driver is a 240sx manual. For which I have just had to replace the clutch and transmission. It has a much harsher engagment. The 308 is smooth like butter by compairison.

    Welcome to Ferrarichat. :):)
Maybe, your clutch is just starting to slip mate. On that paticular day, you may have had the clutch hot, which makes them slip just that little bit more. :) An easy clutch test is...........place wheel chocks under the front wheels, handbrake on tight, start car and place in 4th gear, then slowly let clutch out. If the car stalls, then the clutch is still ok for now and has some life left in it. If the car sits there and 'drives', then obviously the clutch is worn. But.......if you drive the car hard, then its time to replace worn clutch, sooner rather than later. If there is some life left in it, then it will probably be ok to cruise around. :)
Please fill out your profile when you can too thanks mate. Have fun wrenching. :):)

Another test- floor it in fifth gear at about 30 mph and see if it slips.

I would check your adjustment of the new cable first- to make sure that it's right.
