Carol, aren't you thrilled about the 2007 season:

    - Scott Speed gone
    - Wurz in the Williams

    What's next, Danica in retirement?

Sara Fisher wins IRL championship after long time away!!

(can u pls chg this thread title?? to "Carol")

I was really pulling for Wurz - he's been consistent at the top of Friday practices. Way to go Alex.

Villenueve replaced by Kubica - got to admit he made a good showing today.

F1 2007 season may take a somewhat of a back seat to the America's Cup and endurance racing for me - kinda like a sabbatical leave???

Hamilton second McLaren seat would be nice.

Webber to RBR would be okay with me.

oop's need a place for Davidson - the end of the Wurz-Davidson Friday Show :-(

    How's that!!

    all in fun, huh Andreas

Hey guys - "my gal" has done well:

In addition to being the winningest female driver in Series history, Halliday has won more major circuit races (six) than any other female driver over the last year. Thus far in 2006, Halliday has triumphed at Sebring, Houston and Portland as she helped lead Intersport Racing to upset wins in the LMP2 class field over Penske Racing's heavily-favored Porsche RS Spyder. Furthermore, her second-place overall finish at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring was the highest finish ever by a female in the 54-year history of the prestigious race.

"I think Liz has proven herself, so I don't think it's anything special that we've done," Field said. "She's just like any other driver, but if we can open up the door for others by giving her an opportunity, then that's great."

"Without the opportunity, you can't show your skill," added St. James. "That's why I'm trying to highlight that, and obviously Liz has done an extremely good job with the opportunity."

    GO LIZ !!!!!

Sorry Carol, didn't mean to put you on the spot, so I amended the thread title.

You haven't even commented on your "nemesis" Scott Speed?

Personally I'm somewhat sad to see the Friday 3rd drivers go away. My two Swiss compatriots will have no chance anymore to show their stuff (as little as that might be). C'est la vie.

The Speed guys mentioned that the rumour in the paddock is, that Klien will be downgraded to Torro Rosso and Scott will loose his seat altogether.

Not a done deal, but where there is smoke...

also - Where does it say Scott Speed won't be at Toro Rosso next season, Andreas?

WARNING SPOILER Qualifying Thread - my post #82. for latest update. Coupled with fines, foul language, horrible interviews, reversed peace sign on tv, well . . .end of comments.

Kitos for amending the thread (practicing my very limited Finnish for when and if Kimi dawns red coveralls next year).

Andrew, every evening is champagne time but only if it's a good bottle of cold Prosecco !

The Speed guys mentioned the rumour in the Hungaroring paddock is, that Klien will be downgraded to TR and Scott Speed will loose his ride. Since he is not a rich kid, I don't see him in F1 anymore.

Good thing about your Finnish. It is btw quite fitting that Kimi won pole in his "home" Grand Prix. Hungarian is one of the few languages that have the same roots as Finnish and a lot of Fins are at that race. For me an impossible language to grasp.

I hope that Kimi kicks butt and wins the race. If not him than Massa, as long as there is some passing, it should be good.

'cuz the two Ferraris were obliterated?? (just kidding you know!) Melbourne was my worst race of the year 'cuz it cost us a bunch of moola as we were headed to the first F1 Test Day of the year in Maranello and got the word three days before departure it was cancelled 'cuz of the demise of the cars.

I would be surprised if Scott Speed loses his seat to Klein. Klein has done nothing to warrant retaining a seat in F1. Admittedly neither has Speed but the US market is important to Red Bill and Mateschitz. I would think that, given the choice of the two, the Red Bull organization would put marketing considerations first.

I fully agree with your logic, but you're missing one point: Klien is Austrian. As is Mateschitz and RB. Why does that matter? Remember several years ago RB was the main sponsor of the Sauber team. Mateschitz wanted Klien in the Sauber, but Peter (who has a nose for talent, Kimi for example) disagreed. That led to the departure of Mateschitz from sponsoring Sauber (CS became the main sponsor thereafter) and eventually to him founding his own team. So there is a strong tie.

But simply by following marketing and sales considerations, there is a lot more RB to be sold in the US than in Austria. No question.
