I have been reading that the porterfields are the way to go. I told my mechanic this, and we re each going to do our homework on it and compare notes...

are the porter fields a direct replacement for the factory brake pads? Are they compatible with the rotor?

Yes, they are direct replacement. The only downside is that they do not have a wear sensor wire, and you must reuse your existing one. Most mechanics/DIY'ers will have no trouble.

    Proper bedding is also important.

Go the Prterfields. Excellent replacement for Ferrari pads. :) There are different types of porterfield's for your car. The more bite the brake pad has, the more it wears your rotors, a rule of thumb basically. Depends what type of pad you need to suit your needs? :)

Absolutely. When I removed the factory pads, I cut the wire from the pad, soldered the loop closed and sealed it, plugged it in and zip tied it out of the way. Then if I go back to factory pads I just unplug the loop, store it, plug in the factory sensor, and all is as it was.

Plus it is easier to swap pads around without fooling with the wear sensor.

I am using R4S on the street, R4's on the track, no complaints.

im looking for an "everyday driver" brake... i dont press the car hard usually, so i dont think there is any need for a "high performance" pad
