I had an 88 and 89 328 and I replaced both the coolant and fuel lines as they were getting ratty, and having a fire in your engine comparment due to a fuel line failure is how you get your car in the newpaper.. not a fun thought. My mechanic did buy a complete kit and while it's never cheap, the peace of mind was worth it... I think it was less than 1.5K for the lines and the labor... well worth it IMO. Hope that helps. You could do it yourself I suppose if you have the patience, I don't.

You can buy US sized hoses that will fit the coolant lines at NAPA.

Or search the Mercedes cars from the 80's here to find the fuel lines and metric sized coolant lines

I bought my fuel lines from them and they worked perfectly. I also bought the GEMI style clamps to match the old stuff on my car. NOTE: I have a carbed car not FI so the pressure is much lower. You'll need different style clamps on your fuel lines.
