I think I'll drive down to meet the trail riders coming in.....park there on Memorial Drive and wave at them. Then off to the BBQ Cook Off, I wasn't going to go, but an old friend called and talked me into it....so off to Reliant Park from 6PM 'till 9PM. The Cook Off closes at midnight, but Jesse Dayton is over at Goode Company on Kirby. Show starts at 9PM.....at the Hall of Flame...look for the 20' tall armadillo, you can't miss it! Use Yellow Cab as the driving around the Astrodome gets pretty bad as people leave. Or, sometimes I park at the Continental Club and take the METRO rail.....$2 gets you there. Olga wants to see the horses and wagons in downtown, so I'll be back tomorrow with some pictures after the Parade. Yee Haw! I strapped my .45 Colt on for Go Texan Day .....scared the hell out of the lawn crew as I stepped out of the apartment....LOL!
We are also gearing up to head downtown tonight for the cookoff. We will be hanging in tents D-739 & D741 with some friends. Stop by and say hi. Ask them to find me if you come by. Would like to say hi...
It may end at midnight. But the last few years they start kicking you out of booths around 10-10:30. I know several people who aren't going because of the hassle it's become, and it's not as much fun as it use to be.

I'm at the San Angelo finals today. All the champs here get automatic entry to Houston. An 80 year arena record fell today in steer wrestling with a 3.2 s. Cory Solomon won Calf Roping and looked like he was in the matrix flying off his horse from 15 feet away and landing on top of the calf. Nothing more entertaining than mutton busting

HA! I like the name Tiffany. Several people that I know that are regulars, and I usually go with didn't go this year. Too much hassle. Which was real surprising to hear.
