I changed to the single can OEM Ferrari 348 spider muffler a few years ago. Also gutted my OEM Ferrari factory cats and put 409 stainless steel tubes inside them to retain a factory look. So I still have the original two can 348 TS muffler. Is there any reason at all to keep it or is it time to scrap it. Even a purest would still like the single can factory 348 spider muffler over the factory dual can muffler in my opinion. Still looks stock. I can't imagine any future owner of my 348 wanting to go back to that large dual can factory muffler.

    Thanks

If you scrap it, cut off the tips and the junctions first. Those are always good to use on custom setups. But yeah, scrap it.

The best move I ever made was tossing the twin OEM exhaust setup on my 348. :)

You guys are crazy to toss that two can muffler in this "green" day and age. The 348 two can muffler should be repurposed to anchor this!!

Haha! So true! I was definitely happy to scrap my two can muffler, which I also replaced with a single can version I acquired from a totaled 348 spider that was being parted out. [In fact, I'm 99.999% sure it is from 348Tony's FIRST car that was totaled, not his later one that was at the center of the "stolen car" drama.]

Changing mufflers did have a fairly significant effect on the exhaust note sound. Not necessarily better, nor worse. Just... different. Because of that, I would like to eventually go to an aftermarket exhaust one of these days. For now however... the single can OEM muffler is definitely a dramatic improvement over the dual-can on weight alone!

I think you might need 2 of them to hold that big of a boat.

I'll cut off the tips and inlet ends and at least keep them for now and scrap the rest.
