Hey, guys had a question regarding the rotational direction of Timing Belts, does it matter?
Not that I am aware of (doing a belt change today). Nothing has been stated in any of the posts or other write-up I've read. If you find something to the contrary, please post ASAP...
Superformance advised me to never rotate them ant-clockwise (but wiggling them won't cause any problems).
Unless the belts have a directional arrow on them, it doesn't make any difference at all. However, once in use, if they are removed they should be put back on in the same orientation.
Now I think we need a super long thread all about how some belts have a little arrow on them and what that means.....what's the differnce between the two.....what the "experts" say.....are the ones without the arrow "ticking time bombs"....who sells which for what price.....
Belts aren't directional. BUT, never try to rotate the engine counterclockwise with the tensioners loose. At least one belt will jump cam gear teeth, and can actually come off of a cam gear(don't ask). ;^{
