I am familiar with the older Ferrari models and not so much the newer ones.

Q--I heard that 430's and Italias are equipped with timing chains vs belts. If so, what is the the major service schedule like? I'm sure that it must be different than the old 3 year/30k mile major service for those with belts. Also--are 360' equipped with belts or chains?

    Just curious.

    360s are belts.

But 360 major service prices might be more "in between" a 430 and say a 355. The 360 was designed with a hatch between the seats to access the belts, tensioners and water pump.
Both seats are removed and blankets laid out to protect the interior during the service.

Regarding 430s, there is no such thing as a "major service" in the traditional sense. Each year requires fluids and filters plus inspections. Oil and brake fluids are annual, the others every other year. Change the accessory belts when they look old which can be done from underneath. Spark plugs get changed at 30K.

IIRC, there is a prescribed maintenance schedule (inspection and later replacement) for the chain tensioners on the later cars --- not sure about the details on that though.

    Is this correct?
