Does anybody have any info on brands/part numbers of the special bearing puller for the 308 timing gers and TR water pumps? They seem to be pretty rare. All I can find is the 2 and 3 jaw type. I'm looking for the onr with the little flat balls on the ends.

    thanks

There's a picture of the Wurth tool in this thread:

The Wurth tool setup is pretty pricey.

There's a link to Ham308's thread showing his homemade bearing puller tool in the above thread.

I've made my own tool by grinding the head of a socket head cap screw into a flat sidded ball. Then a strip of HW store steel stock ~1/4" thick, 3/4" wide, 2.5" long with 3 holes in it. I tap all 3 holes. Then put a long bolt thru the center hole. Then the cap screws thread into the two outer holes. Screwing in the center bolt causes the strip to pull the bearing out. You can skip tapping the holes in the strip & just use nuts if you're in a hurry or don't have a set of taps. Then nuts could be spot welded or brazed to the strip for a more permanent setup.
