    Steve, It is in the second picture, you need the socket to remove the special nut holding the timing gear in place,

    Thanks. I just did not have to go that far when I did the timing on mine..What issue would make you take that off?

    I haven’t yet but in next couple weeks I will post the progress, the oil leak is the issue now, mean while I will replace the two bearings by hill engineering ones.

    Steve, 550 and 575has the same bearings item # 2 part number 171177 updated by Hill engineering to better quality sold by Ricambi

    ^ I think there is some confusion here. In the above diagram shown by @dersark_painclinic , #2 is indeed 171177 but it is not a Hill Engineering item; its a standard SKF/Ferrari bearing. The Hill Engineering item is a lower cam bearing, 170787 which is drawn as #26 in the below image:

    After you take the belt off try to wobble off the gear to see if it moves and has play, then you know it is time to change.
