Originally, I was hoping to drive this for awhile, fix it up a little and then possibly move up to something newer, or perhaps an older V12. But alas, that isn't possible right now. Maybe later this Summer or early next year, but right now the timing is all wrong and it’s becoming a “bone-of-contention”.

    So…

I need to sell the car. If anyone is interested, I'll let it go to the first offer that gets me back anything close to what I have in it. Which isn't much.

    $15,500 purchase
    $1,600 taxes & Calif. reg.
    $300 repaired glove box
    $100 Birdman's fuse-blocks
$260 Magnaflow muffler (I still have the glass packs too)

    Here's the post on FerrariAds.com:

Here's the thread with most of the details on the car:

I have a ton of pictures, and can take more. Just let me know what you want to see.

    Thanks,

    David.

    Thanks Aaron,

It's really just a case of bad timing. I have some issues here at home that I should have taken care of before committing to buying this wonderful toy.

Had I waited a few months, it would have been no problem. But as it is, I've run myself into a short-term predicament.

I have been working to get my house ready to rent out again, when the deal on this car came up and I thought to myself, "Gee, this something I can't afford to pass up". If it doesn't workout, I'm fairly sure that I can sell it for what I paid.

But it's taken the money I needed to get the house ready to rent. And the really stupid thing is, "A few months rental income would have easily paid for the car!". ...like I said, "Bad timing".

So the best thing for me to do is minimize my losses, re-group and start over.

Someone will get a great deal on a fantastic car. I'll start looking again once I get my house rented out again.

    Grrrr... Hindsight is 20/20.

    NYC,

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

I'd say, "The last thing I need is another.....".

Except I don't have any credit to speak of except a mortgage. Thankfully!

My job is (since Jan) new, and I was out of work for about a year. So right now, even though I make very good money, I'm finding it very difficult to get a loan because of being an independent (software) consultant, not having a large cash reserve (having spent it on the car) and some medical payments we fell behind on when I was out of work.

    Fujian Flu. Very nasty stuff.

But anyway, I'm trying. AFTRA/SAG Credit Union officer is skeptical, but he's known me for a long time and has promised to try his best. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Wanna <wink!> buy a movie scirpt?

    Hmmmm....

Let's see. I've got two. One complete. One a draft. And yet another that I'm "thinking" about.

    1) "Liz" - A short thriller about 2 women trapped in a house with a stalker

    2) "Skimming" - (Swiping your ATM card has never been easier) a series of small interconnected stories about ATM fraud and the complicity of the banking industry in the fraud and identity theft trades. Currently registered with WGA. (and I'm trying to get a loan? hahaha!!!)

    3) "All the Worlds a Playground" - A short story (will probably be a stage play at first) about a playground and how the children learn to recognize the cost and rewards of interacting with various other children, and how they manage to confront their social problems with one another and overcome ideas and attitudes that seek to destroy relationships.

    Oh yeah... One more.

This one is epic though, and I've been in contact with the assistant of a top star, who's "supposed" to be presenting it to her boss. I don't think it's happend yet.

It's about Colonel Richard H. "Rawhide" Boland, US Army (Ret.).

    http://corregidor.org/heritage_battalion/173rd/173rd_intro.htm

He is the namesake of the 173rd ABN (nicknamed "The Herd") because he used to wake his men up to Frankie Lane's "Rawhide!", instead of Reville, during the Vietnam War.

How about a script about a guy in slighly over his head after buying a Ferrari, who then has to think up crazy ways to make the payments, like selling rides at $10 a piece or something at the local high school?

On the bright side, in a year maybe you'l find another good deal on a Ferrari; they do pop up all the time.

    Ken,
Why don't you buy his GT4?

David, I would buy it myself if I thought I would live to drive it. But if I brought another home, the wife would surely kill me. Not to mention, I'm out of garage space. I really love GT4s though and yours looks like a good one. The price is fair, and I think you should be able to find a buyer easily.

    Thank you Jonathan,

Yes, I've been getting quite a few calls since yesterday.

I think the fuseblocks must be a strong selling point!

They don't hurt, that's for sure. But they aren't exactly a deal breaker, considering I'll make them for anyone and they are cheap!

I think it's the nice clean engine bay and those sexy bumpers!
