Guys.....I hate these analogies.....but here ya go: My daughter is 6, she has a friend in her class that recently went to the doctor: her mother felt she may have a touch of asthma because her breathing was a bit labored....so the doctor had an x-ray taken.... This little precious 6 year-old girl had full-blown cancer running from her throat all the way into her abdominal section. It's in the kidneys, one of her lungs and tumors all up & down her neck & back. I believe it's in the lympth system. She hasn't left the hospital since that day she went in for a simple check-up. The cancer is inoperable, she's getting her kidney's flushed and they are prepping her for chemotherapy. She just had a spinal tap done and a permanent IV inserted into her chest. Can you imagine what the parents are going through? Why does this happen???? I'd love to go upto a Rabbi or Priest and ask how they can presume a God exist in the face of these absurd and utterly unfair circumstances. Will they offer a shred more then their ambigious "God works in mysterious ways" line??? I doubt it. Life can be so cruel & horrible at times. Tinnitis sucks, but it could be worse...far worse.
My heart goes out to all of you that are dealing with this god awful disease.... I have delt with this for over 6 years with my mother and I literally almost lost her because she wanted to really blow her brains out. Not only she experienced the tinnitis but it was accompanied with Vertigo as well. Terrible combo to have. I took her to every specialists known to mankind here in Northern California (Stanford) after hundreds of hours of visits and so-called remidies, nothing worked. Some days she would feel great but then it would come back worse than it was prior. To make a long story short, after several hours of searching for remidies I came across a company that makes a device called the MENIETT or MEDTRONIC XOMED (Low Pulse Pressure Generator) IT WORKS GUYS.... I have my mom back and she has been on this little machine for more than 1 1/2 years with no symptoms of Tinnitis or Vertigo... Call this number 800-678-3995 and follow the instructions... Ask Job. He'd let you know what was up. Just because we have trials and free agency (both to affect others and be affected by their choices) doesn't mean God doesn't love us. If your child was beaten up at school, it doesn't mean that YOU don't love THEM, does it? Why didn't you stop someone from hurting your child if you loved them? The principle is the same. I'm sure it hurts him more to not intervene and let us experience life than we ever give credit for.
Base platitudes, the drug of the unthinking mind. I do this for a living, and I have yet to comprehend why bad things happen to children, and people say "It's god's will". OK, if it is, god is an *******. So are the morons fighting holy wars since time immemorial. Like now. Get your own backyard in order, and help a neighbor, a kid, a stranger. I have 2 kids in ICU now who are likely not going to do well if they survive, and one will never function higher than 4-5 months, he is 6yo. The other is a newborn with a disease that will take years to kill him, and all we can do is support and delay the effects, not fix it. Prayer won't fix him, and faith in good, not god, is what keeps me trying. I hope that little girl has a Wilms tumor, not a big lymphoma. Wilms respond to chemo, but Lymphomas don't do very well. Dunno what I pray to, but I'll send a few for her. PM me if family needs anything. I know lots of CA pedi docs, can point them in right direction if needed. We need to love ourselves and our children and brethren. Nobody else will do it. Waiting for a sign...how many millenia will go by before you realize the bus already left. Job missed it too. Live each day as if it were your last, and take personal responsibility for all of your actions. I have to, it's what I do. If I don't, wrong decisions are made, and people can die. I have had it for 5-6 years, seen 3 specialists, they all say there is nothing they can do. It's LOUD at times. I asked if they cut the guts of my ear out - make me deaf in that ear, would that cure it ?, and for whatever reason, they all said 'no'. Makes no sense to me. All the specialists suggested were hearing aids that will pump 'noise' into the other ear, somehow equalizing each ear, but even that makes no sense to me either...
1 week ago, tinnitus. I stopped drinking caffeine 1 week ago. Was consuming @ 2 cans of Coke a day, (which has caffeine equivalent to 1/2 cup of coffee) http://www.cspinet.org/new/cafchart.htm What tinnitus? It stopped.
Ditto to everything he said ^. Somehow I have learned how to block it out and I can fall asleep within 30 seconds most nights. I think it's probably a matter of having it so long that I have adapted to it. Some days it isn't quite so bad and those days are very nice indeed! wax...I am glad cutting out the caffeine worked for you...probably because it lowered your stress level. I don't normally consume any caffeine, so no help for me there.
Let me guess. Going cold turkey with no caffeine caused you to blow your head off. No head, no ears, no tinnitus. But seriously, I am glad your symptoms have vanished. Here's hoping they stay away. Erich
I just got new hearing aids, and I had to go back and have them turned down by 25%. After X number of years without hearing all that crap in the background, I don't know how folks with normal hearing take it. Seriously, the background buzz is overwhelming. Dale
