Pretty much self explanatory ... it's small, very small ... so not a replace the windscreen kind of thing, but in line of sight ... gone 'white' wondered if anything can be done ... but we are talking a 2mm kind of thing ... more annoying than a safety risk ... but wondered if anyone on here had same issue and managed to get something done about it .... other than replace a very expensive Ferrari logo'd windscreen !

I'd ignore it because you'll just get more. My windshield has lots of the little ones. The only thing you can do is buy clearplex for protection in future, I wish I knew about it earlier.

I had a stone chip like that (3 mm). Depend on if it is cracking or not. I looked into replacing the windshield but it was pretty expansive because of rain sensor. I figure I will probably get another chip. I went to the dealership and had them recommend the company they use for stone chips repair. The chip repair will ensure your window doesn't crack more but you will be able to see it. (it does cover it a bit)
They drill a small hole and fill it with the bonding agent while heating the inside with a lighter. Been 3 month, nothing has happened but you can still see the repair.

Had one windscreen replaced due to a very large scratch at a cost of $5800. That was three months ago. Two weeks ago I picked up a small stone chip, out of line of sight. The company that replaced the glass used a device to remove the air and inject a bonding agent, now it looks like a very small bug smear. Good enough. Took about 1/2 hour at minimal cost.

    Cheers,

    Ron

Just curious... Does the insurance company cover this under "full glass" ?

Yes, but I have a $2,000 deductible on my policy. I am kind of hesitant to put in another $5,800 claim, two in one year might not go over well.

Just repair it. The resin makes the chip disappear virtually. The kit is $15 or you can have a pro do it. It's a waste to change out the whole glass
