May 2010 I want to ship my Z06 over to Germany for a few weeks to do a tour of Germany and I'll probably get down to Milan, maybe even Modena ;)

I know who to use for the shipping but what about insurance in EU and anything else I'll need to do to get the car once in EU

Also I'm afraid it may be even worse bringing the car back to the USA bcus of customs here, any experience w that ?

    Thanks

I guess as long as you keep your plates it shouldn't be too much of a problem for customs/insurance etc. on both ways (Yet don't take it granted, it's safer to check that out). All you need is a green card (international insurance card) for the insurance in europe.
In Germany don't forget that while it's often legal to drive over ~100 mph on highways, your insurance can reject your claim (partially or fully depending on their appreciation)...
As for shipping, the cheapest bet is to put in a container (~1-2ks) and wait for a very long time, or by air, much faster...In both cases you need to get rid of all fluids in the process though, which is always a hassle.

Enjoy the trip, if you drop by close the Geneva let me know !

Took 30 days shipping from Houston to Rotterdam.

No, I did not have to drain the fluids.

Insurance IS THE BIGGIE, followed by, followed by, followed by .........

As suggested, a PM to Napolis would likely yeld excellent results.

I live in Germany, William. What do you want to do?

In April or May 2010 I want to ship my Z06 Corvette from Miami to Germany

Plan is to visit Munich, Nurburgring, Berlin do lots of runs on the Autobahn and if I have some time I'll swing south to Milan,

I suggest that you contact http://schryver.com/ about booking a container to Hamburg or Bremerhaven. Bremerhaven is likely the better port, yet requires taking a train to/from the Hamburg airport. I will be sending a PM to you w my Hamburg contact, she can able to answer most of your questions.

When you deliver the Z06 to port, try to have the low fuel light blink on just as you arrive. If not, someone with unproven skills will be removing the excess fuel.

    Sounds like a great trip.

We might ship the 599 from the EU to the US and do an epic North American road trip next summer :)

I wonder how often the cops will stop a Ferrari with Monaco plates (I wonder if any will even know where Monaco is)...

    Hi William!

If you are visiting the Ring again, make sure to vistit Koblenz. It has got a nice historical center and is only roughly 50 km away from the Nürburgring. From there on you can travel up the river Mosel. Beautiful wineyards and curvy roads next to the river, and even more curvy roads a little bit away from the river itself. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/21/Wolf_mosel.JPG
It is an half day trip from Koblenz to Trier which has got the Porta Nigra, the best preserved roman Gate north of the Alps.

I don´t know if you are interested in sight seeing, but if you want, just tell me which sort of holliday you want to do, just driving, or driving with sight seeing. We do have sights from roman time, right up to WW2 sights, like the Bridge of Remagen, famous from the Movie. I am happy to give you advices, because I live in this area! (Cologne)

    Feel free to ask!

    Greetings,
    Chris
