Just bought an '05 Maserati Cambrio Corsa and love it so far. The car only has 7,000 miles. The person who owned it previously had to replace the clutch at 5,000 miles and had it tuned up at 6,000 miles. That scares me! What can I do to help make the clutch last longer for me?

First tip: learn to spell "cambiocorsa"... Just might help getting answers if people don't think you are a dork!

I'm no CC expert, but 5,000 seems EXTREMELY low. Could the previous owner have abused it quite a bit?

What all did they fix? Just the clutch, or the F1 pump, etc, as well?

Best way to take care of the CC is to always put it into Neutral when at a stop. I've also heard that one should reduce the use of Reverse.

First of all welcome to the forum.

    - Never use auto mode

    - Always use sport (except rain or ice which should be common sense)

    - Try to use reverse as little as possible

    - Avoid going uphill from a stop.

    - Put it in neutural while sitting at the stop light

    - Instead of downshifting every gear during normal driving (not spirited) just throw it in neutural.

    - Do not take the foot off the accelerator while shifting, wait until the car finishes shifting

    - Shift above 3krpm's all of the time, not saying run it to the rev limiter but 3.5-5k is nice for daily driving.

I've seen clutches last from 5k miles to 50k miles after selling them on almost a weelky basis. Take my advice and you will be fine. If you have other questions or concerns about your Maserati call me at the # below.

not so much a dork, but why did you buy a car that scares you in the first place?

as listed above, but forget about the reverse and neutral part.

the more important part is the cc does not like stop and go traffic when the clutch is riding on itself often. give the car a little room to move instead of slow crawling.

Wow, this thread could make you believe that a CC is a fragile beast! Are they really that bad??

No their fine, you just have to know how to drive one, just like a 6spd.
