depends on the length of the piece of string..........what sort of 308 do you have they came in all sorts of sizes from 14 inch's and up plus milimetric so you looking at anywhere from $100 to $400 depending on what car you have

Size depends on the year and model. Either way, they are cheap, relatively.

FWIW, and please don't take this the wrong way, if you're really concerned about tire costs, are you looking at the right car? Tire costs are pretty much one of the smallest costs of owning one of these. I only put about 3k a year on mine and I don't expect to replace tires very often. At least not compared to oil changes, service, and general preventative maintenance. What I am saying is that if you're so concerned about the costs of tires, you may not be in a position to take care of the more pressing needs of a Ferrari, or any other Italian car for that matter.

I'm still deciding on the whether to get a 308 or 348. On the 308 an 85. On the 348 perhaps a 90.

Dude, take a '92 or newer if you go the 348 route. And if you get a 348, I assure you that tire costs will be the absolute least of your worries.

Are you thinking that you'll be doing burnouts, etc? Sorry, I just can't quite understand why tire costs are so important.
