Basically- if your let a car sit for a while on a flat surface you can get flat spots in your tires. Depending on the kind of tires you have (the older ones were worse), after a few months or even just a few weeks of sitting, when you first drive the car it can feel a little like the balance is off, but the balance is not off. Whats happening is youre driving out the flat spots. This kind of vibration is a real pet peeve to me so I am a big fan of these tire cradles. They are a kind of gel pad that you drive your car on to- I think they are like 2" high- they have a little ramp- you basically pull you car about a foot away from your intended resting spot, put the tire cradles down and then gently drive the car on to them- they have a little raised area at the other end to let you know when you should stop. I let my porsche sit up there for 3 months last year and they worked.
