My 05 f430 still has the original tires from factory. I believe Goodyear run flats. My car has 6k miles. So my tires are almost 6 years old. Do i need to change them? There are plenty threads life but I'm concerned whether they get "old" overtime and may cause safety issues? Like they are more likely to rupture? My tires are bit dried up looking. Should i change them?

Goodyear usually says "five years of use" in Tech Support, check to see if your run flats are the same.......????

Even allowing for some time in the showroom I'd say you are "there".......

If you can visibly see deterioration, I'd say you are DEFINATELY 'there".....the rubbber off gases the flex agents and they become progressively harder...NOT a good thing.

I had a issue recently when getting an 03 CS checked over before purchase by my local Ferrari dealer. Date code on side wall showed they were 7 years old although not worn. Was advised 6 years is recommended and that although not part of the UK MOT test that in the event of an accident insurance companies may take dim view of their age and cause issues with payout. Play it say and get some new boots.

I would say YES change them. It's not unlike the cam belts scenario with the 360 - some say you're good for five years, others say stick to the recommended 3 year interval but the big question is what's the worst possible downside of extending out the service interval and what's the cost/hassle saving?

You really don't want to loose the car in a bend due to lack of grip nursing the last few millimeters of thread out of hardened off tyres. Change and put your mind at ease I say and enjoy the car all the more knowing you can push on!
