    I was at a local car show today and the guy parked next to me said something like "looks like you have some tire wear". At 6,500 miles of course I will have wear. They are still a ways away from the wear bars but I am interested in what others results were. How many miles before replacing the rears ... and the front tires too?

    And when it is time to replace them (only looked at the rears today) I am thinking about buying them from the local TireMan rather than driving 150 miles to the dealer. Any experience with TireMan? I just want the wheels to be safe, they assured me that they can do the job.

    IMO, rears should be fine. I am expecting to get about 10000 miles on the rears.
    When I get new ones on the front, I may have an alignment check performed just to be sure. That I will do at the dealer.

    Totally depends on how you drive. I've cooked a set in one track day and had a set last 30K miles with calm use.

    Any good tire shop and I stress good can mount a new set for you.

    You can also buy them direct from Tire Rack and they will lead you to a good mounter near you.

    Any good race shop can also mount and balance them.

    Forge. One bit of advice. Try not to do an alignment unless absolutely necessary because alignments can be very hard to get perfect. I did an alignment on one of my other cars before just to have it checked, and they made it worse! From now on, I just leave it unless it is very obviously pulling to one side.
