I need to replace the aging Yokohamas on my 8 & 9 inch 17 inch rims, currently shod with 235x40 & 255x40. I'd buy Goodyears F1D3 like on my 16 in rims but it looks like they're winding down production and sizes. The Continental DW seem to test better than the Michelin PS2 but at half price theres got to be a catch. My requirement are: quiet with good wet & dry weather performance, any suggestions?
    Thanks

Not sure how much cold weather performance you need but I'd suggest the TOYO Proxes T1R. I'm on my second set and wouldn't buy anything else. The rears do get a bit loud towards their end-of-life but it's not unbearable.

On my SRT-6 I currently using 225-40-18 on the front and 275-35-19 out back.
