I was checking my right front bearing today [308 GTSi] and noticed the outer part of the tire was worn pretty badly. It appears to have way too much positive camber. Can this be the source of my humming noise that dissapears when unloading that side in a turn?
Up until now it has sounded like a bearing going south.

A mechanical problem in that side could account for the incorrect camber, too.

If your alignment is off, it's time for a trip to the shop. Get the parts right, then a four wheel alignment, and you'll be amazed at the improvement in handling.

If the noise diminish when turning to one direction more likely it's the wheel bearing.

This shouldn't have nothing to do with too much positive camber.

Did you look at both of your front tires? Have you done an alignment recently? Toe in can cause wear on the outer edge of the tires, as well as a dead steering feel.

Yes...only the right side. I just replaced the bearings on that side. I haven't had the car aligned yet [still new ownership] and was planning to do so after I check the rack for center [it was replaced by the PO]. The steering wheel is also off center.

If you have a badly worn suspension component, that could easily account for the tire wear. When you go in for the four wheel alignment they'll report if there's a problem with the suspension, as an alignment won't be effective if the suspension isn't tight.
