where do you get your tire fix/replace?

At your local tire shop or at the dealership?

I wouldn't want to take my F car to the local tire shop if I had a flat and if it's on the weekend I don't want to wait til Monday.

Haven't had to exercise that option yet. However when I need tires, I'll probably go to one of the local tire shops. The dealership is a lousy place to buy tires. They go to the local tire shop and become the middle guy charging you a comission to get tires on your Ferrari. However, if you LIKE to spend money on your Ferrari, then go to your dealer.

I use to be on a Mooney aircraft list. Those guys use to brag about how much they spent on their annual inspections. If the FBO didn't charge them enough momey they'd be upset. No bragging rights. I got off the list because of stupid stuff like that and every time we talked about doing a maintenance item there were several on the list that would quote chapter and verse why we had to take the airplane to a shop to get even the simpliest things done.

The bottom line from me, go to a tire shop.

    Have fun. Live fast.

Absolutely correct. I go to my local official Pirelli dealer and his shop is always full of cars from the dealers. What a waste. If you live in the states the real meal deal is tirerack.com and get them mounted and balanced at a trusted shop where you pay them for alignments already.

If you had a name and posted a location I'm certain someone on this board could give a valid referral to a good tire shop in your area.

If you're concerned about your car, just bring the wheels to your tire shop and have them mounted and balanced- Discount Tire is great if there is one near you.
