Just checked numerous sources today and was told the tires should be available in mid to late summer.
I just got tires from Discount Tire. Made last year. Some local chains might still have them in stock so check around.
I just ordered Toyo Proxiies R888s. Hope they are a decent dry road sunny day alternative. Those BFG rears are just unobtainable in my calls and searching.
That's my plan B if the BFGs are still some time away. End of the week I can pester BFG for an update so hopefully will have some information to pass on by early next week.
I sent BFG an email on Sunday for an estimate for the production date on the rears as I've had them on back order for a while and also may have a response I can share soon
Is it worth pointing out that Pirelli are now making a tyre that you might be interested in 255/60WR15 255/60WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12 | Longstone Tyres & 215/70WR15 215/70WR15 PIRELLI CINTURATO CN12 | Longstone Tyres These were OE for the Muira SV
My understanding is that Toyo Proxes cant be left outside in below freezing temps? Kind of hard to avoid that in the Midwest even with a partly heated garage when its 20 below outside.... What do you guys do with them in the winter? I have heard of guys leaving hoosiers in a shed, and they were ok... But, seems risky...
Here's the answer I received from BFG on the next production date for the sport comp 2s for the 255/50r16 rears. Maybe we should flood them with phone calls to add some pressure Image Unavailable, Please Login
Toyo can't be driven in the rain, and will fall apart below 40 degrees... or so I have been told... Not sure how accurate that is...
I will be getting a fresh delivery of 255/50R16 Pilote Sport Michelin tyres today 255/50ZR16 Michelin Pilot Sport | Longstone Tyres Are they the best tyre?
If you meant the BFGoodrich = no. They (BFG) seem to only be able to tell me that they don't have any, nor can they even say if they will, or won't, have any in the future - terrible customer service! I've gone to plan B and bought a set of the Toyo R888 (but had a hard time getting those too). I'm getting them mounted this week at Discount Tire, and will ask them again if they have any new status for the BFG.
Steve, you are in Texas which is pretty warm. I am pondering putting these on, as I only drive in the summer. The only thing dissuading me is the disclaimer that these things can't be stored below freezing temps... Anyone use these in the Midwest? Of interest, I can't find a place to mount these wheels. Discount tire and others flat out said they won't mount tires for an exotic, even if you bring them in loose... Liability issues... Called the dealer, they never called me back... May need to find a place that does 44 inch chrome spinners for the rap crowd....
Yes, we have different (temperature) situations, and I wouldn't want to be caught in a downpour in the Toyos either -- they've got a little tread, but a lot of surface without tread that will be in contact with the road. I'll still be hoping the BFG are made available again as I can't see these Toyos lasting long with a treadwear rating of 100. Must be up to the individual location -- haven't had any trouble with my local Discount Tire doing the work (they mounted the BFGs that I'm replacing now), but I do take the wheels/(old) tires in already removed from the car -- with the center cap removed too .
The bfg 255/50/16 are back ordered... The 245/50/16 are in stock... Practically speaking, anyone try these? Is 5mm less per side noticeable? Might be safer than running race tires... My 930 takes pretty much the same tire sizes. The 245 looks slightly smaller, is smaller than recommended, but fine on the track... I wish I could get the correct 265... But not available anywhere....
Hi Am i missing something, or is there a reason to not fit the Michelins as on this web page Ferrari Testarossa | Longstone Tyres I can't imagine anything else is as good.
I think its great you offer it as an option... Thanks! 1300pounds, plus shipping internationally, is about $1700-2000 dollars... BFG's are $400 shipped, when in stock... thats a 500% difference... Most of us simply can't reasonably afford it...
